One of the most popular aspects of Franklin Square is its playground; a virtual IMAGINATION STATION for Oswego's children. Construction of the playground was made possible only after much planning and fundraising. Money for the "imagination station" was raised in a number of ways, with a huge contribution coming from city school children. Children were asked to donate any extra change they might have to aid in the costs for the park. As the park progressed, more and more man power was needed; and the community provided for the need in a big way. The efforts put forth by these generous workers helped to finish construction of the playground in the early 1990's. It was the hours upon hours volunteered by both young and old alike that made Franklin Park what it is today.
