2005 Goals and Objectives

The City of Oswego Parks and Recreation Department has adopted the following goals and objectives for 2005 which were developed based on citizen input.

Goal #1 - Educate our customers about the many recreational opportunities available especially those relating to youth

Objective:

  • Maintain an up-to-date website including detailed listings of recreational opportunities.
  • Promote recreational opportunities to City of Oswego and surrounding area residents through various publications.


Goal #2 - Improve the cleanliness of parks and recreation facilities

Objectives:

  • Increase the frequency of restroom inspections and document all inspections on a standardized checklist.
  • Provide an adequate number of litter bags at parks for customers use in cleaning up after their dogs.


Goal #3 - Provide a safer park system

Objective:

  • Install security lighting at the Legends Softball Complex parking lot and the Franklin Square (West) Park.
  • Include a link to the Dog Control Warden and instructions for reporting dog-related complaints on the Parks and Recreation website.


Goal #4 - Improve the maintenance of playground equipment

Objectives:

  • Exercise appropriate and timely response to customer playground equipment concerns.
  • Document weekday playground inspections on a standardized checklist.

Goal #5 - Establish a coordinated process for receiving and responding to Parks and Recreation customer input/feedback

Objectives:

  • Establish a web-based customer input form providing a convenient means for customers to communicate positive and negative concerns about the parks services, operations and equipment.


Goal #6 - Increase the customer satisfaction rating relating to complaint resolution to 75%

Objectives:

  • Implement a system of rapid and appropriate response to customer complaints.
  • Communicate resolution of complaint to customer in a timely manner.
