City of Oswego Route 48 Slope Stabilization Project Meeting Scheduled for April 4th

The City of  Oswego will conduct a Public Information  Meeting to discuss the proposed Route 48 Slope Stabilization Project in the City of Oswego. The project is located in the City of Oswego, Oswego County, New York. The meeting will be an open house format held from 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 at:

The Common Council Chamber, Oswego City Hall
13 West Oneida Street
Oswego, New York 13126

The project will involve the stabilization of the failing slope adjacent to NYS Route 48 as well as the relocation of the roadway to the west. The preferred alternative is to install a soldier pile and lagging wall adjacent to the north bound travel lane of NYS Route 48 to stabilize the failing slope. The roadway will be relocated approximately 12 feet to the west of its current location to further stabilize the slope and shift the roadway out of the current failure plane. Traffic will utilize an offsite detour during construction.

The project is being progressed as Project Identification Number (Pin 3756.28), by the City of Oswego. At present, the project is in the design study phase. Representatives from the City of Oswego and Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C. will be available at the meeting to answer questions and obtain comments on the proposed project from individuals, groups, officials and local agencies.

Questions regarding this meeting may be addressed to Mr. Robert Johnson, Project Manager, City of Oswego. (Telephone 315-342-8153).
