The 2018 Oswego Fire Department Fall Open House & Safety Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 29th from 10am-2pm. Several local public safety and public service agencies will be in attendance for the event, each of them promoting community safety. The event will be held at the Oswego Fire Department Headquarters on East Cayuga Street, as well as the adjacent       parking lot. The event is being held rain or shine!

Over 20 public safety and public service agencies will be supporting the event along with the Oswego Fire Department. The Oswego Police Department will be on hand with their child ID program. The New York State Police will be at the event promoting seat belt use with their “convincer” demonstration. The Oswego County Emergency Response Training Center will be bringing the fire safety trailer and will be on hand with the fire extinguisher training prop. The US Coast Guard and Auxiliary will be focusing on water safety and personal floatation device use, and the Oswego County Stop DWI Program will be on hand with their impaired driving simulator. The Oswego County Traffic Safety Board will be supporting the popular bicycle rodeo at the event, where kids can ride their bikes through a safety course and learning the rules of the road along the way. The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, Oswego State University  Police, and the US Border Patrol will also be supporting the event. We have several other    agencies expected such as the Oswego City/County Youth Bureau, Oswego Health, Menter  Ambulance, SAVAC Ambulance, Oswego County Health Department and Farnham Family  Services.
