The Community Development Office for the City of Oswego was successfully awarded funding through the competitive New York State and Regional Economic Development Council Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process from the Department of State’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program to engage in a waterfront feasibility study to assess the economic and development opportunities driven by market analysis for city-owned properties within the waterfront area to advance the preparation of strategies for community & waterfront revitalization. The city’s waterfront feasibility study will analyze waterfront planning, design, and community visioning for the waterfront, as well as provide market analysis and real estate development opportunities to create an economically viable plan to serve as an economic catalyst to capitalize on the city’s natural asset.
The City selected Edgewater Resources as the consultant to prepare the Oswego Waterfront Feasibility Study. “Edgewater Resources was founded with the goal of helping communities and landowners enhance their waterfronts, with a focus on planning, design, and engineering solutions based in economic reality. Our combined background in design and development allows us to build partnerships between municipalities and private developers that make the most of each opportunity. We go beyond imagining what a marina or waterfront could be, and develop plans that can be actually financed and built resulting in projects that achieve measureable economic benefits for the larger community.”
