Cahill, Jr certainly left his mark on our community in countless ways including the construction of the west linear Riverwalk and the completion of Wright's Landing Marina, he will be most remembered for being a genuine, hardworking and an absolute gentleman. Oswego is a better place because of Mayor Bill Cahill and he will be greatly missed. Our condolences go to his lovely wife Ann and the entire Cahill family," said Mayor Billy Barlow.

Jun 17, 2020 - Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow announced today, a new policy mandate for the Oswego Police Department. From June through November, the Oswego Police Department will be required to conduct a minimum of 80 hours of foot or bicycle patrols each month, in an effort to bring more police officers into city neighborhoods and parks, to further engage in, and to enhance community policing efforts in Oswego.

Two major events scheduled in the City of Oswego are cancelled for 2020

May 30, 2020 - Mayor Billy Barlow announced today the cancellation of the City of Oswego 4th of July Independence Day Parade that was scheduled for Sunday, July 5th. Mayor Barlow said the firework display at 9:45pm on Sunday, July 5th would still be held, but would be relocated to launch from the pedestrian railroad bridge to allow for more accessible viewing locations and to maintain proper social distancing.
Executive Director Peter Myles announced today that the Harborfest Board of Directors decided to cancel Oswego Harborfest 2020 which was scheduled to take place July 23 through July 26 because of concerns about Covid-19 and the amount of construction along the waterfront.
