Oswego Country Club

The Oswego Country Club is an incorporated, member-owned, non-profit organization. OCC is among the nation’s oldest golf clubs, having been established on 1897. Oswego Country Club currently boasts over 350 members, including a very active golf membership.

Oswego Country Club, under the watchful eye of Course Superintendent Scott Peters, is one of the finest golf courses in Central New York. OCC hosts numerous member events and leagues throughout the golf season.

OCC is the home course for the 2015 undefeated Oswego High School golf team and the Oswego State Lakers golf team. The Club has also played host to many of Central New York’s finest golf events including the New York State Women’s and Junior Amateur Championship, the annual Syracuse Post-Standard golf event, the CNY PGA Senior Championship and the CNY PGA Assistants Championship to name just a few. In addition, the Club also hosts a handful of large “outside” golf events during the course of the golf season.

The Club’s present location, on West River Rd. (Route 48), was originally known as the Murray and Littlefield farm. The course consisted of only six holes, with the clubhouse being located near what is now the fourth hole.

The present clubhouse opened in 1903. In 1915 A.W. Tillinghast redesigned parts of the course, which is now known as the Front Nine. In 1978 Geoffrey Cornish designed the Club’s second nine holes, which is now the Back Nine.

In 1994 the clubhouse went through a major renovation, including a new kitchen, dining room, and grill. The improvements were dedicated on May 7, 1995.

Oswego Country Club’s mission is to maintain a position as one of Central NY’s finest private clubs. To accomplish this we must continually improve and maintain our golf course and club facilities, be responsive to membership needs, and maintain an affordable membership.
