Exelon is a FORTUNE 150 company that works in every stage of the energy business: power generation, competitive energy sales, transmission and delivery. Exelon owns and operates the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, just minutes from Oswego in the Town of Scriba, and has two boiling-water reactors. The nuclear power plant is built on a 900 acre site on the shore of Lake Ontario.

Nine Mile Point Nuclear-Station Unit 1 began operating in 1970 and Unit 2 was brought online in 1988. Together, they are-capable of generating 1,907 net megawatts (MW), enough electricity to power over 1 million average American homes.
